Course Outline This workshop aims to enable participants to explain the basic principles of personal income tax in Aruba, identify the main types of taxable income and allowable deductions, and apply this knowledge to accurately complete and submit their personal income tax declaration using the new online declaration system introduced by DIMP (Departamento di Impuesto). Course Objectives Upon completion of the workshop, participants will be able to: 1. Explain the basic principles of personal income tax in Aruba, including its purpose and the main rules governing income taxation. 2. Identify and classify the main types of taxable income and the applicable deductions when determining taxable income. 3. Navigate DIMP’s newly introduced online income tax declaration system and identify the information and supporting documents required to complete the declaration. 4. Complete a personal income tax declaration using DIMP’s online system by entering the relevant income details, applying applicable deductions, and reviewing the declaration for accuracy before submission. Methodology: The workshop employs a dynamic and interactive learning approach, combining informative presentations, group discussions, and hands-on exercises. Participants will have the opportunity to apply newly acquired knowledge, fostering confidence in their financial decision-making abilities. Target Audience: This workshop is designed for individual taxpayers in Aruba who want to understand the basics of personal income tax and learn how to complete the new online income tax declaration introduced by DIMP.
