Course Outline This course provides a comprehensive overview of the field of human resource management (HRM). It is designed to equip course participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively manage the workforce of an organization. The complete course consists of parts 1 and 2 and covers the core functions of HRM, including recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, and employee relations. This advanced Human Resource Management course (part 2) builds on the foundational principles covered in HRM 1 and delves into a more comprehensive exploration of critical HR topics. The course focuses on key aspects of HRM, including payroll administration, building positive workplace relations, safety, health, and risk management, managing a global workforce, addressing HR challenges in small enterprises, and understanding the labor laws of Aruba. Course Objectives By the end of the course, participants will be able to: • Understand the key components of payroll processing, including deductions, benefits, and tax compliance. • Develop effective communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships between employees and management. • Create and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for employees. • Understand the cultural, legal, and ethical considerations when operating in a global HR context. • Identify the unique HR challenges faced by small businesses and startups. • Familiarize yourself with the labor laws and regulations specific to Aruba. • Understand the rights and responsibilities of employers and employees under Aruban labor law.
